National History Day

Eleventh (11th) and Twelfth (12th) grade cadets at MACHS participated in National History Day this year, a contest that encourages more than half a million students around the world to conduct historical research on a topic of their choice.  As a part of the competition, students create museum displays, write research papers, create documentaries and even websites to showcase their knowledge.  This year's topic was "Triumph and Tragedy", and three of our seniors created websites to highlight topics that they felt best exemplified the theme.

In total, eleven students from the high school were chosen to advance to the next round of competition.  Please join us in wishing all of our students the best of luck on the 13th of March as they compete for a chance to represent Philadelphia in the state-wide content later this year!

Thank you to Mr. Vargha, AP History Teacher for his guidance and Leadership.
